Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade a client's site from 1.6.4 to 1.7 and when I click Continue on Step 5 to go to Step 6, the page just hangs. There's no error to report from the web page or Apache's log. Any ideas?

check for E_STRICT? and make sure it is OFF?
make sure error reporting is turned on?

E_STRICT is now off and error reporting is on. I've also upgraded PHP to the recommended 5.2.12.
Some additional info: I have now run a checksum test and the page shows the following PHP error about 30 times (above the actual checksum test):
