HELP! Where did my site go???? It vanished...

Post by senorcosta »

My site disappeared! Well, most of it except for a small part of it on top. Also, I get the login screen for ADMIN, but when I log in there is only a white page. I checked my database in my CPANEL and it said its OK.

What happened? What do I do?
Thanks for your help

PS I have several other sites running CMSMS and have never had a problem. This site is under my Web Host Manager account with the others so it doesn't make sense. I could see if they ALL went...

It would seem there is quite a bit of information missing from your post.

Much as I wish it were true, I don't think anyone here has the gift of ESP. ;)

Please. Share with everyone the details of your system/software.

Hello,

what is recently in your http logS ?
What does your hosting provider say ?
SSH or FTP ?
Files still there ? Rights unchanged ? How is your config.php doing ? Can your switch debug to ON ?
What do you mean by "OK" for your database ?
Has your white page a source ?

Try repairing your database and if that works create a new database user used solely for cmsms and change your config.php

OK all,
PLEASE, I need to know what happened here. I LOVE CMSMS but my confidence in it has been shaken. Please read and I'll explain what happened and maybe you guys can figure it out.
-  I have a Web Host Manager acct at www.hostforweb.com. Basically its a re-seller acct.
- Under the main account, I have about 10 websites running
- Yesterday, OUT OF NOWHERE and WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING, 3 of my CMSMS accounts disappeared. However, 1 is still functioning perfectly and another two old ones (website baker) are fine.
- Within the ones that disappeared, other databases exist which are working fine. For example, go to www.ssyso.com. Its gone now but the forum (www.ssyso.com/forum/) is running fine
- I checked all the databases in my control panel in phpMySql Admin and the check was "OK" for all and sunsequent "repair" didn't do a thing.
- ALL other databases running on my sites are fine. Only the CMCMS ones have been affected (???)
- I have been talking to my host (www.hostforweb.com) and they cannot see anything wrong anywhere.

MY DILEMMA: I run a nonprofit and chose CMSMS to re-do our website. We TOTALLY rely on it for funds, communications, etc. I need to know if it the CMSMS or something else. Like I said, I love it but I need an answer please.

OK. You clearly have no content in the pages.
I think the question still remains - what is in your HHTPd log(s).
Yes, I understand you're not clear on this. So let me take a moment to clarify. :)
The log(s) that are in question here, are those generated by your web server.
The ones of interest would be the access log(s) for all the offending domain(s)
Your error log(s) for the same would also be of particular interest in this matter.
Note, this next one is a biggie - it would be immensely helpful if you
were able to provide a PHP_ERROR log. If you yourself haven't set one up, your
provider most certainly has. This one will most probably provide the most conclusive
evidence to your current dilemma. So, before I go any further, maybe you would be able
to post the output or attach any worthy information from these logs.

HTH, and best wishes.
:)

Pierre,
Sorry for the late response, but I have been traveling. Maybe that is just a typical pompous French remark, but assuming one does not have experience based on one aspect is ridiculous. In 10 years as a webmaster for a multinational company (with a branch in Paris), I never had the need for them.
Since that time, I built 2 more sites with CMSMADESIMPLE and today, they both went down. See here>>

Sorry, but isn't this distressing to anyone else here? You go through the trouble of building a site and POOF!....its gone one day FOR NO REASON? Works one day, and the next its gone.

If its an ISP problem, can someone shed some light on it?
If its a CMSMS problem, can someone tell me why?

The really weird part is that I have a webmaster account so have several sites running under one ISP account. Other sites I nade with CMSMS are up, while others go down........

I have checked permissions, etc. Like I said, they were fine for 2 weeks and then ....gone. Nothing done to them, nothing changed.

Please, please someone shed some light on this. As it is my faith is shaken in this software. I like it enough however to keep using it provided there is an answer somewhere.
