I have older version of CMS made simple. Upgrade needed?..

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

I have older version of CMS made simple. Upgrade needed?..

Post by bally »

I like to upgrade it to the latest version which I assumed is a matter of few clicks. Having read the posts and the problems people face, I fear I might lose my content or worst lose my site..

To avoid any problems, I like for someone to upgrade it for me that means ironing out any potential and actual problems that may arise at the time of upgrade.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks in advance

Bally.

Don't be scared :)

Read this post: http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... 43#p258543

Don't forget to make a full backup before you start, if something for some reason the upgrade doesn't work out, you can always revert to that state!

Good luck! ;D

I like to make a copy of the site (files, database) in a subdirectory, and upgrade it there.. Once validated, I backup the original, and change the pointer in CPanel to point to the new directory.. No downtime while upgrading, nor due to failures.
