You get what you pay for with Open Source - what a headache.
Can someone explain to me why installing and "config it" is the real problem with open source? You guys write tons of code but you won't write an install program to install your work properly? Why not? And so sometimes it works, other times not.
I guess you get what you pay for.

And to answer your question, it's because the php install you used doesn't have a mysql driver loaded or installed.
