Section image/custom content conflict

When I submit a change to a template with section image tag in the template and custom content module installed, I get a page showing only the rendered code up until the sectionimage tag, not the template list.
When I remove the custom content module, the submit button on the edit template page returns the list page.
Alternatively if I remove the sectionimage tag and leave custom content installed, the submit button returns the list page.
I think I have a conflict between the custom content module and sectionimage tag.

Has anyone else come across this problem or is there something I am missing.

I am running cmsms 1.04 with the latest modules/tags installed.
I have completely reinstalled everything but still the conflict.
My solution at this stage is to not use custom content.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
