Question about File Manager and the Search function
Hello folks, just a quick question. At my office I am running CMSMS 1.02 on my desktop machine as am test driving it prior to putting my office's Intranet website on it but I know we will need to upload very large document files (i.e. MS Word, Plain Text as well as PDF etc.). My question is, is there a way to search these documents after they have been uploaded using File Manager? Even if it means that the keyword for each file will need to be manually entered I don't mind doing that for now, but is there a way to search and present a list of documents that contain the search word(s)? This would really help me. CHEERS!!!

Re: Question about File Manager and the Search function
If you use the uploads module, you can enter search words into the description field of each file, and these are searchable.

Calguy1000 I am using Pisearch and it does not appear that it searches the description files of files in the uploads module. It seems only page content and new items are searched (I believe I read that somewhere too). HELP!!!!!

Try using the Search module that comes with CMSMS 1.0.xDebon wrote: Calguy1000 I am using Pisearch and it does not appear that it searches the description files of files in the uploads module. It seems only page content and new items are searched (I believe I read that somewhere too). HELP!!!!!
I'm guessing that is the one that works with Uploads.
Note: I don't have time to take on any more projects. I'm quite busy. I may be too busy to reply to emails or messages. Thanks for your understanding.
