[solved] mod_rewrite not working

This morning I woke up to see my web site, and when I tried to access a page, it gave me a 404 error. I tried testing the original URLs (index.php?page=page), and they worked. So this must be a mod_rewrite error in the servers part. Yes, my host supports mod_rewrite, and I checked to see if my .htaccess file exists, but to no avail. My config.php file also assumes mod_rewrite like it should.

What's the problem with this and how do I remedy this?
