I have done a fresh install of CMS Made Simple 1.0.2 "Maui" yesterday, and have been trying to install modules via the module manager.
I received the following error when trying to install 'Album' :
Could not create a file (permissions problem?) /www/110mb.com/g/u/i/a/d/e/i/s/guiadeisorafutbol/htdocs/cms/modules/Album/templates/templatelist.tpl
I have tried setting the permissions of the modules folder to '777' and taking out the File Creation Mask in the Global Settings, as suggested on other threads regarding this that I have found on this forum, but I still get the same message.
This is an installation set up on free php/mysql hosting space for a kids' football organisation. It's running on PHP 5.1.6 and MySQL 5.0.27
I have searched for other suggestions on the forum, but can't find any, so if anyone has any ideas I would be most grateful.
Kirsty
EDIT : Have found out that basically the folders the module is writing when installing a module don't have the correct permissions... so it adds a folder, but can't write to it. I have had to manually change permissions at every step in order to FINALLY get the module to install. Is there any reason it's doing this and can I change it so that it writes folders with writable permissions?
Problem with Module Manager, dowloading modules.

Re: Problem with Module Manager, dowloading modules.
Well... it goes down from time to time, but seems pretty good for freespace. I had a few problems with FTP, but they seemed to have ironed that out now. You can upload and unzip on the server and it all works ok with the database.
I didn't set up a .com with it, but if you do I think it's pretty easy. I got a free redirect URL from bravenet, as they can't afford to have overheads... even for a domain!
