News - author field

How do you edit the ‘author’ field in News?  The Admin Panel > Content > News does not prompt you for the author’s name.  The system assigns the user’s name as the author, but this may not always be appropriate.  Suppose someone gives you some text worthy of an entry as a News item, and you want to give that person credit for the item, but there does not appear to be a way of doing that.  Also, you may want to display your actual name rather than your user code.  Is there a way around this?

Thanks for that.  This may be the sort of thing that should be implemented as part of the standard installation.
