Is everything needed?

Hello,

I recently started to use the CMS you created and its pretty nice. I am getting a bit confused on the template/css section of the design section. I can edit the files well enough, but I seem to be running around in circles with the naming of things, which is on my end as I am not use to this setup yet (already starting to click but .

My question is what files, templates, css etc can I delete safely if I like the Layout Left Sidebar +1Column Which seems tied to Left Simple Navigation +1column. So do I need all the other pages, templates, css? I know some are tied in somehow, haven't gotten that deep to figure it out yet. I was thinking if I could get rid of the excess things I won't be using at least for now, that it would help me find the things I want to edit a bit faster.

I did look for this on the site and couldn't find anything about this anywhere.

On a side note, whats with the logo?:) Ive read every post here about it and I figured it out. My question isn't so much why its that way as why couldn't I just make a new pic, drop it in overwriting (or deleting and rewriting) the same space and name as old file? Whenever I did that it just showed the logo, had to change the url to make it change. Is that normal?

P.S. I have used PHPFusion in the past, also I have tried a few others CMS"s back then. I have tried about 15 others recently. That said besides some confusion on the way this CMS is thrown together, as I am not familiar with this one yet, it is a very nice setup. I hope to be learning more from everyone here as I read on how to use this better.

There are filtering options which might be better for you while you get to know the system. Generally, only items related to your design are necessary, and a few sample designs are included to show this. In Layout > Design Manager, you can go to the Designs tab which is where templates and stylesheets are attached to a specific design. Then, on the templates and stylesheets tabs you can choose the filter near the top and filter it to only show items attached to a specific design (among other filtering options).

As for the logo, keep in mind these are sample templates for you to learn the system with, they're not really intended to be what you use for a production site. You're certainly welcome to, but CMSMS isn't a sitebuilder, it's aimed for web developers to build their designs and keep them separate from easily-editable content.
