CGCalendar won't update after site upgrade

Post by baldguy »

Upgraded site from 1.11.11 to 2.2.10.

In Module Manager, updated necessary modules, but CGCalendar won't update. It states

Code: Select all

Module CGSimpleSmarty will be upgraded to version 2.2.1.
Module CGCalendar will be upgraded to version 2.6.
and when I hit "Proceed" it fails with message "Module already installed". And, CGSimpleSmarty is already at version 2.2.1.

Code: Select all

Cms Version: 2.2.10

Installed Modules:

    AdminSearch: 1.0.4
    CGCalendar: 1.16.1
    CGExtensions: 1.62.1
    CGSimpleSmarty: 2.2.1
    CMSContentManager: 1.1.7
    CMSMailer: 6.2.14
    CmsJobManager: 0.1.3
    DesignManager: 1.1.6
    FileManager: 1.6.8
    FilePicker: 1.0.4
    MenuManager: 1.50.3
    MicroTiny: 2.2.4
    ModuleManager: 2.1.6
    Navigator: 1.0.9
    News: 2.51.5
    Search: 1.51.6
    ThemeManager: 1.1.8
    TinyMCE: 3.2-beta6

I've cleared site cache and browser cache. I've tried turning off "install newest dependency" in Module Manager settings. Nothing is working, and I'm at a loss.

I have not uninstalled/reinstalled the module as I don't want to lose my data.

After making a backup, look in the /modules/cgcalendar/ and /modules/cgsimplesmarty folders and delete/rename moduleinfo.ini, then re-open module manager and see if it lets you upgrade.

Ideally, you should have upgraded these modules after getting to 1.12.2, before installing 2.2.10 as per the instructions at https://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/upgrading/old-versions
If you didn't do these steps, you may want to revert to your 1.11.11 backup and do them.

Thanks, DIGI3! That did the trick.

Although, I swear I did the module upgrade at 1.12.2. This is only my second upgrade of this magnitude, so I've been following the instructions very closely. I'll watch that more carefully on the next one, though!! :-[

You probably did do it right, those moduleinfo.ini files are not clearing perfectly and it's something we're working on for 2.3. I only mentioned the 1.12.2 step in case you missed it and it was a different problem.
