I would like to upgrade to the latest version of CMS but need to know how going from .13 to current version will effect my custom colors and other custom chnages I have made to my stylesheets? (example, the grey box, the seach box, the color of the menu?)( Will I loose these changes and/or will I have to recreate them? Or with the update work without loosing these? Thanks

update only changes db structure it wont touch your db data (and all templates and css is in db)
only things that could change are plugins output (for example some plugins have changed their ouput a bit to be more accessible and more valid xhtml output)
Still I recommend to take a backup and if you cant afford to keep the site down for a while do the update first on a local copy of the site to see if it works ok.
