fatal error in connection

Post by eroh92 »

Hi,

I am running cmsmadesimple 1.0.2 on a linux server with apache 1.3.36, php 5.1.4, and mysql 5.0.24-standard (also cpanel 10.9.0-RELEASE if that helps).  I receive the following error after clicking continue in step three and it is displayed below the picture of the blocks 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5:

Fatal error: Call to a member function Connect() on a non-object in /home/luisecom/public_html/home/install/install.php on line 767

I tried the MySQL and MySQL4.1+ setting in step 3 and get the same error for both... I can connect to the database from my computer with Navicat, and with phpmyadmin on the server, so I don't think it is a problem with my connection properties.

Thanks in advance!

I expect you are using the phpMyAdmin of CPanel. Did you try to connect to the db with an own written PHP file?

Did you ever before install an application with DB on that server? What happen if you start completely from scratch (delete all and upload CMSMS again to your server)?

Greats Christophe
