JMFilePicker in news module templates?

Is there a way to add a JMFilePicker field in News module templates so that an editor can pick an image when writing a news article?
I tried adding the content_module tag (as described in the module help) into the news template but it doesn’t seem to work.

Thanks for that hint, Jeff. I did as you described and it does create a file picker field, which is very nice. Unfortunately, however, it doesn’t seem to store the value. I choose an image, click “save” and when I go back into the article the field is empty. What might be the problem?

Edit: Sorry, I wrongly created a custom field of type “file” instead of “text”. It works if a text field is created.
