Problem rendering site

Post by magallo »

Hi guys, over the years i created a good number of CMSMS websites and occasionally i found out that a site would be rendering all "broken". When investigated, i would find out that the issue was that the content blocks would not be picked up.
Most of the time i would have a 'header' content block with all kind of css links or scripts.
At first i noticed that if i rename the content block, then it would be picked up again. Other times, it would work again if i clear the cache.

The problem is that i would not find out about this until the client would contact me all pissed because the site is "broken".

Do you know if this issue or do you know of a permanent solution?
thanks in advance.

It's not a known issue, and sounds unique to your setup.
Perhaps you could provide a lot more details, then maybe we'd be able to come up with some possible solutions.
Not getting the answer you need? CMSMS support options

I know in the past there have been some users with problems of Global Content Blocks that couldn't be found (iirc it showed a comment about that in the html page source).

There has been lots of discussion about this topic in the forum but I don't remember if there ever was found a cause/solution.

A solution could be to re-write your page templates and use template inheritance. Then you don't need the header GCB etc.

I was not able to find a stable solutions for this issue. Clearing the cache will temporarily fix the problem.
We are now upgrading to 2.1.4 Hopefully this will resolve the issue.
