I am working on a site for my son's high school basketball team. I have things working pretty well, but need to add calendar functionality to enter the game schedules into. I want the user to have the option of viewing a traditional calendar or a day-minder style. For data entry, I need to have the date, day of the week (calculated), opponent (or tournament name), site (home/away), team (freshman, JV, Varsity and Boys or Girls) and finally, the score to be added later. I also need to have a master calendar or broken out by team at users discretion.
Which of the calendar modules would be best of this type of layout. I am an experience PHP/MySQL developer, so tweaking a php or mysql tables in a module is no big deal for me. Just need to know which will require the least amount of change.
Thanks,
Alisa
Which Calendar should I choose?
Re: Which Calendar should I choose?
I could probably make this decision on my own if I could find examples of the different Add-On calanders available to see which one I thought might best meet my needs. So, if anyone out there has links to calender add-ons that they could share with me, I would really appreciate it. Currently the only example I can find is of the "calendar" add-on. I did a search on the Kalendar add on and couldn't find an example. I think there are several others, but those seem to be the most popular.
Thanks,
Alisa

Re: Which Calendar should I choose?
I'm not sure if the Kalendar module is up-to-date with CMS 1.0.2, and Calendar (although it may not seem like it this week), is still under active maintenance.

Re: Which Calendar should I choose?
So, sounds like Kalendar is not a good choice at this time. I think I'll try loading Calendar and see how it goes.
I used to do a site for a private preK-12 school. When my son graduated, they bought into an ASP CMS system. I really liked the way the calendar worked. The event entry had a button you could activate for an athletic event, which added input boxes that would correspond to all the pertinent information, such as team, game time, scores, etc...
I think I'll try adding that type of functionality to the Calendar module and if I get it working well, submit it for consideration.
Thanks,
Alisa

Re: Which Calendar should I choose?
Or you could look at formbrowser/formbuilder, and writing a module to integrate that into Calendar, using events.
Either way, it's worth looking at FormBuilder/FormBrowser first.

Re: Which Calendar should I choose?
Hi, I am very interested in the calendar you write about.
Do you hvae any idea when you will submit the result?
What I want to use it for, is entering the results of our clubs' sailing competition
and of course the events we will have.
Do you think it might be used for that?
Greetings
Hans
