Hello,
I use the the module JM_Forum with Captcha-Modu . It works well, but I have a problem presently. although I use Captcha, I've got a spam attackt and the IP is always the same.
So I try to ban the IP but it doesn't work. The IP doesn't appear in the List and I looked into the db tables, there isn't the data in it.
I can ban registered user, this woks but IP ban doesn't work.
Can anybody help?
Regards
Thomas
JM_Forum; Forum made simple; IP banning not possible
Re: JM_Forum; Forum made simple; IP banning not possible
I don't think I ever had such an experience with JM_Forum, but I use FEU for access control and rarely, on one site or another, use a guest access forum or board but I set them up with both Captcha and heavy moderation.
I'll try to reproduce the IP banning issue as soon as I can, although I don't think it ever failed on my installations.
You can still ban IPs through .htaccess directives, which are site wide effective.
