Edit by non-admin user overwrites page alias (CMSMS 2.0)

Post by Bash Gordon »

Dear all,

we have the following serious problem with CMSMS 2.0.1.1: if a non-admin users edits a page the page alias is overwritten by a default page alias generated from the menu text. The problem does not occur for admin users (which also get an option tab to manually edit the page alias).

We have lot's of links from external sites and and internal page links. Thus, any edit now breaks lot's of links. We are urgently searching for a solution. Any help is appreciated.

Code: Select all

Thanks for any help!

Good catch... Unfortunately this simple error wasn't caught in the beta process.
It's fixed in svn now though (in the 2.1 branch).

Great, thank you!

Is there any indication yet when 2.1 is to be expected?

And is there anything I could do in the meantime to work around the problem? I do not dare migrating the production system to the SVN version. Should I?

Best,
Andreas

CMSMS 2.1 needs to be tested. Three of the dev team members (other than me) need to give their thumbs up to the release before it can be shipped out. Hoping to get that done in the next week.

I would never recommend that. Ever.

If you're sufficiently skilled to patch your CMSMS system you could fix it yourself, but that constitutes hacking the install, and means that if you're caught you are not going to get any support.
