FormBrowser - Excel file download error!

Post by mehrdad »

I have the exact same problem as stated in the link below but since it's closed I had to open a new topic.

http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... er#p319163

I haven't been able to fix it so can you please explain exactly how to do it?
Basically when I click the excel icon for one of my Forms, it gives me the Opps! error page.

I don't know what they mean by "One of the submitted forms was abruptly cut off"

Could you please help me with this?

Thanks

I'm not sure what either post is exactly about but I think you both mean XML when you say excel...

So the problem is when trying to export a form in XML format it gives an error, right..?

Both this post and the other doesn't give enuf info to really help...

Maybe the XML but when I click on the Icon to download, it shows .xls as the extension. Please look at the screenshots.

more info = more help...

If you read the error you can see it says XML no matter what the icon looks like which makes me think you have some kind of extension on your browser to read excel files so it changes the icon because I've used formbuilder many many times for many numerous sites and none of them have ever shown that icon...

So...

System info...
What browser and do you have an extension to read excel..?

Currently I'm using Firefox but when I download the file it still has the extension .xls and it opens in excel.
I don't think the extension matters really because the problem is between Form Browser and Form Builder module.

I'm curious to know how the other person was able to exactly solve it. Is there any way we can ask him to join us in this conversation?

Thank you.

As you can infer from the topic you linked to, he needed to edit the database directly. It seems that all it took was a broken form submission and that row was not complete. he deleted that row (don't know how he identified it) and the module was able to export the rest of the rows.

Sorry, just cuz I'm awake doesn't mean my eyes are open... ;)

Obviously as I kept reading form builder not form browser and the error image even says formbuilder...

I've never used form browser so I'll let some the more intelligent people (those with their eyes open) around here handle this from here...

Thanks. Should I be waiting for someone else's reply?
Or is there someone you can ask to help us?

Thanks so much

In this case I assumed that it applies to a corrupt record in the database or or some combination of characters that makes the download of record to fail.
I advise you to look through records to see if anything stands out.

Yes I just did. Thanks.

I did take a look at the SQL database.
There's like 3000 entries and I removed one that I thought might be problematic. But nothing has changed.

If you take a look at the first topic at the link I provided in my initial message/, the person said: "One of the submitted forms was abruptly cut off"

Any idea what it means?
