Basic CRM - NMS maybe?

Hi

Existing sports club client with CMSMS is looking around for a simple CRM (Customer Relationship Management system):

- 200-500 members
- links to an email list system
- web based admin access for a handful of users
- flexible fields: the usual (name, email) but also date joined, some boolean tick boxes, membership paid-to date, etc. Plus they want to be able to sort/filter by these, e.g. show all members whose paid membership has expired.

I think Newsletter Made Simple can do all of that except for the sorting/filtering? I am also a bit concerned by warning on the help page, makes it sound like clients won't be able to cope (they need quite a bit of hand-holding even now):

Any other ideas? CMSMS modules that would fit the bill - or external websites that would fit?
