Help with asking for Help

Post by LanetteM »

I am using CMSMS version 1.0.2 with all mods that come preinstalled and the following that I installed myself:  Custom Content 1.4.3, Form Builder 0.1.1, FrontEndUsers 1.1.1, SelfRegistration 1.1.0-beta1

My question is:  Where do I post to ask questions about translations for modules?

Do I post my questions under Translations?

Taken from the folder's description:
"Have a translation or something? It goes here. This can mean modules, documentation, or CMSMS itself!"
Do I post my question under modules?

Taken from that folder's description:
"Want to make a suggestion or have some code to submit? Let us know here."
Do I post it here, under General Help?

Sorry for the confusion, but alas, I am confused.  It isn't very clear where I should be taking my questions... Looking under Translations, my questions don't seem appropriate. Same applies to Modules/Add-Ons.

I bet you're dying to know my questions, right?  ::tongue in cheek::  Well, I'm pining to ask them so...  If they aren't appropriate for this area, let me know I will happily post them where you tell me to.

I need FrontEndUsers and SelfRegistration to translate what the USER sees into Spanish.  I am not sure who to ask, where to go to ask, or if there is a way that I can do this myself.  (I have people who can do the translations for me, I just need to know what the process is.)

I don't need the Admin area to be in Spanish, or the modules themselves; I just need the output that the user sees translated and only on the Spanish area of the site.

Is there a way to do this?  Is there a tutorial I am missing somewhere that explains how to do this?  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  (Like where I should go to be asking my questions?)

I figured that for the extensive forms the site needs, I could set up two copies of each: one in English, the other in Spanish.  Therefore needing no translations for the FormBuilder, but I can’t figure out a work around for FrontEndUsers and SelfRegistration.  Any suggests would be greatly appreciated.

I am NOT using the Multilingual Package based on 0.12; rather I used the suggestions from this post:  Recommendations for a bilingual site?

Honestly, I had issues installing CMSMS 0.12 and the Multilingual package *and* getting the mods I needed to work in them.  After a few days worth of struggling, I decided to try the above and it worked like a charm... with a few exceptions.  (See Above)

I have searched the forums extensively; maybe I just don't know what words to use to get the result I need?  Please HELP???

Thank you in advance, sorry if the questions seems stupid...

You may find going to Extensions>Modules then click the name of the module, the word Help in older ver. CMSMS, there is a line near the bottom that says lang="en_US" you can use a diff. lang by looking thru the folder for the module and finding folder=lang in this you may find another folder in it you may find other lang. files if the spanish lang. file is in there you are good to go...

I know a lot of maybes but I'm not sure every module has been translated, if it has not been then you can do it by copying the english lang. file en_US.php and translating the last word into spanish.
