global metadata 403 error message

When I try to submit Global Metadata under Global Settings I get the following error message

403
Forbidden
Access to this resource on the server is denied!

Has anyone experienced this and resolved it?

CMSMS version 1.11.3 “Darwin”

My first guess would be 'mod_rewrite mod_security'. Ask you hosting provider if that's enabled and if so, if they are willing to disable it for your site.
