Running CMSMS 1.11.9
I installed Events Manager in error instead of Events Listing. Events Manager shows in the list of Installed Extensions in 'admin' BUT not in the list of Modules OR in 'Modules' on the server. There are 'events' related tables in the database.
When I then tried to install Events Listing I got the following message:
Installation Error: with(CREATE TABLE cms_module_eventslisting_templates ( entry_id INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, name VARCHAR(255), content TEXT, PRIMARY KEY (entry_id) )ENGINE MyISAM CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci)
I have deleted all the module 'eventslisting' tables in the DB, and removed the module. I then tried to re-install the module but I still get the same message
(I did this more than once by the way, but without success)
Any ideas please would be appreciated.
Thanks
Martin

Re: Events Listing & Events Manager modules problems
I wouldn't use Events Manager. It hasn't been updated since 2012 and isn't compatible with PHP 5.3.X
The problem with Events Listing is a known bug, no resolution yet. http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/bug/view/9414

Re: Events Listing & Events Manager modules problems
I am actually desperately trying not to use it! This Module does NOT appear in the list of Modules in File Manager on the server OR in the list of Modules under Extensions in the Admin.
However, it does appear as a listed Extension in Admin. and if I click on it I get what appears to be the admin system for that module.
It also seems to appear in the CMS database together with the 4 CMS_module_eventlisting tables that I have been trying to delete, even though the Module has been deleted in Modules, and these tables keep on re-appearing!
I really don't want to start again on this site from a fresh install. any advice would be much appreciated.
I have tried optimising and also repairing the tables but to no avail.
Thank you
Martin

Re: Events Listing & Events Manager modules problems
Try clearing the cache of the website.
Re: Events Listing & Events Manager modules problems
A quick way to deactivate a module is to rename its folder on the modules directory, (for instance EventsManager to EventsManager_).
You can still delete the cms_module_eventsmanager(...) tables but I advise to backup before doing it.
As for the Events Listing, well... there that a bug report that may or may not be a solution. But, again:

Re: Events Listing & Events Manager modules problems
Thanks everyone.
I am now quite sure that the module 'eventslisting' is bugged in some way. It won't let me uninstall properly and when it installs I get the message as mentioned previously.
I think I may as well try to use a variant of something else. ListIt might work, or even Cataloger or Guestbook.

I would advise ListIt. It's very flexible and easy to use.

Yes, I think you are right.
