[solved] CGCalendar admin area display different in IE 11

Post by paulbaker »

So, I upgraded a site the other day - core and modules, including CGCalendar. Current sys info is pasted below.

There is something strange going on with an admin account who is using IE 11.

The main issue is when logged in using IE 11 she is not seeing any of the events; even though there are lots of events in the system.

She is logged in as an editor and this group has these permissions set: "Add Calendar Events", "Edit My Calendar Events", "Manage Calendar Attributes", "Modify Calendar".

She added the majority of the events herself (pre-upgrade).

You can see the attached screenshots. One her IE 11 screen (with missing info) and one my Chrome screen (with all the info). Both logged in as this editor account.
IE 11 screenshot

Chrome screenshot
Chrome screenshot
You can see in the IE 11 screenshot:
  • missing event info
  • missing account info (top left)
  • missing home icon (top centre)
  • a different CGCalendar icon
There is no https used in this site.

Nothing of relevance in admin log.

Can anyone suggest why the IE 11 display is so different to Chrome and what I can do about it? (Apart from suggesting she use another browser).

Re: CGCalendar admin area display different in IE 11

This can be filed under "One of those IE 11 things."

It was resolved with the following:

In IE 11:

- Tap or click the Tools button Tools, then tap or click Compatibility View settings.

- Under Add this website, enter the CMSMS admin area URL, then tap or click Add.

Here's a step by step guide:
