[Solved] FrontEndUsers Invalid Email Address Array message

Post by Hennesen »

Hi there,

I've run a small website and was recently made aware by members that they can't change their password anymore and that the "Forgot your password" function is no longer working (I am using the FrontEndUser module). I've tried it as well and all I get is a "Invalid Email Address Array" message. They can still log in etc but are not able to reset their password. I've checked the settings but it seems to be all ok.

System info:

CMS Version 1.11.10
CMSMailer 5.2.2
CMSPrinting 1.0.5
FileManager 1.4.4
MenuManager 1.8.6
MicroTiny 1.2.6
ModuleManager 1.5.5
News 2.14.2
Search 1.7.11
ThemeManager 1.1.8
TreeManager 0.6.0
CGExtensions 1.38.11
FrontEndUsers 1.23.4
SelfRegistration 1.8.2
AireLibs 1.3.2
FormBuilder 0.7.4
CGCalendar 1.14.1
FEU_PMs 1.0.0
Showtime 3.4
Forum 0.9.4
CGSimpleSmarty 1.7.3
MyFavorites 1.0
Gallery 1.6.1
CGJobMgr 1.3.3
NMS 2.9
EventsManager 1.2.7
Captcha 0.4.6

Has anyone experienced the same and is there a solution for this problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Ok, just in case it happens to someone else - the reason for the error message was that I set the FEU property "Email Address" in the settings as required. As soon as I changed it to "Optional" the error disappeared and all is cool again.

You must have made a new property as email address is one of the built in properties, along with password, and is used for 'username' unless set not to be, which in my experience doesn't work so well...
