Module Manager problem with 1.9.4.1 and 1.9.2 - Error!

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Module Manager problem with 1.9.4.1 and 1.9.2 - Error!

Post by naturelab »

Hello :-

I have two sites, running 1.9.4.1 and 1.9.2 respectively.
They are hosted on the same server.

Both have problems with the Module manager.

Error message -

Code: Select all

SOAP Problem (http://modules.cmsmadesimple.org/soap.php?module=ModuleRepository): Response not of type text/xml
Screenshot attached.

Obviously this prevents me upgrading any third party modules.

Can anyone suggest a fix ?

Download the files from the Forge and upload them to the corresponding folder at the server.
Then upgrade CMSMS to the latest.

Jo :-

I have downloaded the upgrade file ( cmsmadesimple-full-diff-1.9.4.1-1.9.4.3 ) and have already read the documents you suggested.

However, this particular upgrade only contains updates to the News module and empty directories for tmp, lib etc ( see screenshot )

That's correct. Probably just a bug fix and since News is a core module, it should have been an important bug or security fix at the time.

PS. Note that the file you picked is a diff file, meaning only differences from one version to the other are present there, and there are no DB changes.

Thanks, but my point is...

It's the module manager itself that is broken and there doesn't seem to be an upgrade ( to the module manager ) in this file package.

If you need to upgrade the modules before upgrading CMSMS do so by going to the forge, downloading and installing each by the process I described on my 1st post. If not, do a major upgrade after 1.9.4.3, following the steps from the link I provided.
After that you should be able to use Module Manage again.
