How to build a subscription based site?

Hi All.

I have a friend who wants to build a site that requires users to pay a subscription fee to receive access to the site. I was wondering if tsuch a thing would be possible using CMSMS and if so, which modules would i need to look at?
My first thoughts went to FEU and SR, naturally. But i'm not sure about the payment options and how that would work? Can i use the Products module to control subscription?

Also, can i allow a user to use the tool a few times (like for personal use or demo purposes) and then require a subscription to continue usage?

I just want to know whether this is possible in a broad sense and if so i can then delve into the details of how to do this.

Self Reg. does have a setting for packages/subscription but you may have to do something to get it to be free for X amount of time then switch to paid like making 2 groups and manually change user from one to the other...

Most likely you will need the full e-com suite for this to work...
