[SOLVED] Unusual error while testing the Checksum

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[SOLVED] Unusual error while testing the Checksum

Post by fearmydesign »

Hello everyone, I don't think this particular problem has anything to do with CMSMS, but I hope to get some insight into what could be happening, or maybe someone has experienced something similar.

GOAL

(I've done this a MILLION times!) Just trying to install a fresh copy of CMSMS 1.11.10 - that's it!

PROBLEM

I can't get passed the Checksum test. Several errors are coming up. Please see my screen shot labeled CHECKSUM ERRORS below.

WHAT I HAVE DONE

I have done this a million times. I keep an extracted copy of the latest Full CMSMS on my desktop for easy upload. I uploaded all the files (like I always do), then I go the browser to finish the installation.

With my first try using the Full CMCMS 1.11.10 installation, I got the same errors. So, thinking my local copy could have gotten corrupted, I downloaded the CMCMS 1.11.10 English only along with it's Checksum.

After upload and testing Checksum, I got the same errors!

I then tried uploading the "missing" files manually... I went to Filezilla (see my 2nd screen shot attached), and the file uploads but disappears right away, and the server tells me there is "MALWARE DETECTED" (see my screen shot)... What???

This makes no sense.

So then, I deleted all the files again for the 3rd time, and reuploaded everything from scratch again. Same issue when testing the Checksum and manually uploading.

HOSTING

I have GoDaddy hosting, but I just did a fresh installation two days ago!... on the exact same account!! What happened?

Is it possible that they made some upgrades to the server? or tightened security in some way?

This is just weird... I do this all the time ???

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on this. Thank you.

Seems like a custom response from FTP server to me. So I think there's only one right place to ask: GoDaddy.

My first guess would be the same. The server security think there is malware is that file.
I checked the file in a new package and it has the same size as yours. Not the best way to check a file, but it is something...

Apparently the 226 error has something to do with my local computer and antivirus not allowing to upload, nothing to do with the server.

I called GoDaddy and they were able to run some tests, but everything looked good.

I still haven't figured out why all of a sudden my local box decided not to allow these particular files to upload. I was however able to upload the files using their File Manager... go figure :-\
