Please i cannot install cgextensions and company directory i try every
version of both .
And I get
Error parsing XML file. Please make sure you are uploading a .xml file and not a .tar.gz or zip file
or
DTD missmach
Please this is my last post if anybody do not help I give up on cmsms .

When you download the file from the Forge give the file a name AND the file extension .xml!!! Then try to upload it and install the module.

Or download the tar.gz (or sometimes .zip). Extract it on your local PC.
Make sure that the modules directory NAME is the same as the containing 'ModuleName.module.php' (Sometimes developers add version to directoryname which must be removed. Name is case sensitive probably).
Then upload this to your webserver /modules/ directory.
In backend (admin) go to Extensions -> Modules and find the uploaded module with an 'install' link behind its name. Click 'install' link.
That all said: something is wrong with your configuration (probably configuration of the webserver). You may be able to install modules the way I described but run into other problems.
