Disappearing Admin-front end

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Disappearing Admin-front end

Post by olavt »

For my last few upgrades, I have had problems with the admin console. The template will not work. I just get a list, like on the attached image.

The strange thing is that I have several installations. I think they are all upgraded at the same time, to and from the lastes version, now running 1.11.9. It works fine on some installations, and not on others.

I have tried to change admin theme under "Global settings", but it does not help.

As far as I can see, the site as such runs as it should. But I would like to have a decent admin panel.

You have to change admin theme on another place too. Please look at My preferences > My account. Choose there the OneEleven theme.

The problem is that I do not get access to this function under "My account" with no proper admin theme.

I helped a little bit. At least I got a logo at the upper left corner, but still not a proper admin panel.

As my webhost discourage MyPhpAdmin for security reasons, I used SQL Manager, but that should make no difference.

Often, this kind of behavior has a cause (of course).

You (your hosting provider) could have disabled php error reporting so you don't see what's going wrong.

Try to find out whether php error reporting is disabled and if so, enable it. You could also have a look at the error log file of apache (again, if possible via hosting provider's admin panel).

Could be that an installed module is not compatible with this version of cmsms --> rename (via FTP for example) suspicious module folders in /modules/MODULENAME to /modules/_MODULENAME and try again.

Most times we ask for more info to get you the help needed, so, what version did you upgrade from, what steps did you take to do the upgrade, did you upgrade 3rd party modules before upgrading CMSMS, what version of PHP, etc. etc..?
