[SOLVED] Looking for appropriate module

Post by jakovbak »

[*]Hello everyone!
A client of mine came up with a request for his website and after a week of exploring and trying I still can't find the right solution. Maybe it could be done with a single module or with a combination of several modules but it's a bit too tricky for me. Simply because I have never worked on something like that... So, here's the explanation:

1) It's a website with six different topics categories (let's call them "Top Categories"), each of them containing different number of sub-categories.

2) Content of sub-categories are short news and announcements.

3) Homepage should display several newest entries like an ordinary news page.

And here comes the tricky part... When user is exploring a single Top Category:

4) Some of the entries must be visible in several Top Categories because the content of those entries refers to more than one topic.

For example:
- There is a Top Category called "Theatre" which contains news entries from everything theatre-related. It also contains sub-categories like "musical", "comedy", "drama", etc...
- There is another Top Category called "Music" and it contains entries about music-related news. It also contains sub-categories like "jazz", "rock", "classic", "etno", etc...
- BUT... If there is a musical concert in a theatre then this news entry should be visible in both of the above mentioned categories!

Of course, there is a possibility some entries should be visible in couple of Top Categories and in several sub-categories.

What I came up with is this:
- In my opinion, this could be done with News Module if there is some kind of cross-reference or cross-linking system. I couldn't find it, I don't know if it exists, I'm just saying... If admin would be able to add multiple entry definitions like "This entry is now labeled as: theatre, music, jazz, recommended" then that entry would be visible in four categories/sub-categories. Something like that...

Sorry folks, I'm a designer and I'm not that good with coding to figure out how to solve this problem all by myself. So far I've been quite successful with adopting and adapting different solutions to suite my needs but this is way above my knowledge. Or maybe there is a single module solution but it never crossed my path? Don't know.

But if some of you knows what to do or you need more details please don't hesitate to write.
Thank you in advance and best regards!

Stupid me! Of course there is an easy solution available already! I thought it's more complicated because I'm nor very familiar with CGBlog module and I've missed somehow one crucial parameter which makes this possible! Problem solved!
Best regards,
