[Solved]Image Manager error message

Post by jasnick »

Good morning

Using latest verson of CMSMS

Have heard from 2 editors in the last few days that they cannot load images. I tested it myself and get an error message denying upload and suggesting a permissions or safe mode issue? The 2 sites have been operational for a long time with no problems so it is a very recent happening.

I can upload images using cPanel and FTP so I conclude it is a specific Image Manager/ CMSMS issue.

Can anyone shed any light on why this is?

Thanks

Use cPanel or FTP client to check the permissions of the /uploads and uploads/images folder.

Give those folders 777 permissions and try again.

Yes, this is the same issue. I am also with Arvixe and did query them about permissions as I was seeing two different permissions: 0664 and 0644 for image files. They replied and just said that default permission set on the files are 644 and on folders the permission are set to 755 so am none the wisee as to where the 0664 comes from.

As far as I am aware, this (images not being uploaded) has only just happened as both clients upload images regularly and this is the first time they have mentioned it.

[Later] Arvixe is investigating this issue as they have had more than one Ticket submitted.
[Later] This issue is now fixed. It required some editing of the php.ini file.
