Having trouble installing on remote server

Post by mhyder1 »

Ive installed and tested cmsmadesimple locally on my server and it works fine. but when i try to install remotey i get problems. I ftp the files to their destination then start the install process. the trouble occurs when i get to the database part. if i uncheck create tables then the install will complete but doesnt work. Other wise nothing works.  say for instance my database is called cms_database:

I fill in the database name: cms_database, username:___________, and password:**************. but for some reason the install wont work unless i uncheck create tables.

Hope someone can help me out. Thanks.

two options I can think of:

1)if youre remote server uses CPanel the database might be getting another name even if you entered "cms_database" as the name for it...
check to confirm the name of the database.

2)if all else fails, try asking for a database from someone with a clean install of the same version. then you can update yours with it and it might work.

What version of CMSMS?
How does install not work when you uncheck "create tables"? Are you getting errors?
It looks like you're installing beta6 on a server with PHP's memory_limit set to 8M and PHP runs out of memory.
