Installing new version of tinymce

Post by vinograd »

People,

This is my first post so please excuse any missing information.

I am trying to move from tinymce version 2.55 to the latest release but I am having problems.

On the modules page, I upload the xml file. The system complains that the module is already installed. I then uninstall tinymce and try again but get an other error. What I would like is to have both versions available so I can switch back if the new version does not work.

Can anyone suggest how to do this or point me at some documentation that tells me how.

Thanks,

Dave

Why not use the Module Manager to update and/or install (Extensions -> Module MANAGER).

I don't think it is possible to have both versions available.

First, of course, check the documentation whether it is compatible with your versions of cmsms (and php)

When I do that, I get the following error.

SOAP Error: XML error parsing SOAP payload on line 17382: No memory

Well, I happened to get such an error myself too yesterday (don't know the exact error, but it was also with 'SOAP' and while updating TinyMCE).

What I did was updating the whole cmsms to the latest version as described in http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/upgrading.
Of course I first made a backup of all website!

After the upgrade I could upgrade the editor without a problem.

I was looking for a less radical solution. And one that allows for regression should the update be a problem.

Any suggestions?

You can only have ONE version of tiny installed, you need to choose the tiny version that works on your version of CMSMS and it seems you are using an older version of CMSMS as new ones don't use soap...

It always helps to show system info on first post...
