Editing SEO Meta Data for products

Post by rp024 »

It appears the only "page" you can edit meta data manually is the home page via ACP.

In the options on any other page there is no "Page Specific Meta Data" editor.

I have six products I'd like to edit the meta but cannot find where. If I view page source on the products they all have meta.

Please advise, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Anybody?

Please let me know. There appears to be no placement areas to add meta for products. View source says otherwise. Is the meta created by the script and added to the products automatically?

Thank you for any help in advance.

Metadata can be included in 2 places, site admin > global settings > metadata box, each pages Options tab metadata box for page specific metadata...

To include some metadata for each product you will need to make new fields then do an assign in the products template then use that in page specific metadata...

Take a look at SEOTools2. It allows for page-specific meta data and detail page, eg product or blog detail page, specific metadata.

For products, you need to create two customfields, one for keywords and one for the meta description and assign them to the vars you've configured in the SEOTools2 admin, eg 'detail_keywords' and 'metadescription'.

When the frontend is viewed, these assigned vars will replace the page-specific meta tag info.
