Connecting to the CMS core from external PHP scripts

Post by davids355 »

Just looking for a quote at the moment, but basically I have 1 PHP page that I currently run on my cmsmadesimple site, because it is a standalone page, and doesnt run within CMS I have copied the flat HTML of another page on the site and I pasted that into the PHP page - so it displays like any other page on the site, but it doesnt update with the rest of the site if I change headers/menu items etc.

I am also planning to launch wordpress subsites within my current cms site.

For both of the above, I would like to be able to add the main menu at least, but maybe the header and footer as well, from my existing CMS installation - so taht if I add a new page to the menu of the site, it automatically updates on these effectively external sites.

Just wondering how much someone would charge to do that?

Make a new template with nothing but {content} tag, make new page using that template, add the {menu} tag you use in Content, call that page/include it where needed in other sites, same for footer etc...

thanks Dr.CSS and thanks for the PMs I received from several members.

Everyone has given me info on how to do it myself, so I will have a go, and if I get stuck I will hire one of you guys.

thanks
