Truncate CSS. WTF?

Post by 14m3r »

At this day, I couldn't understand what I was doing wrong, but after some time, I found out that some css code has been truncated. Is this bug or.. what is this? Damn it, why it could happen? Many of the results of my work was irrevocably lost and I'll have to do it again.
And basic question. How can i fix it??

I have heard of style sheets that were too long, best bet is to break it into smaller style sheets, maybe one for the menu one for the main etc...

Dr.CSS thanks for the reply. I've made a separate stylesheet for navigation, it helped. But, anyway I have a request to the CMSMS Dev Team. Please, in next version of the CMSMS make option to check the length of css and display alert. If the limit of a characters has been exhausted, need to display a warning text like that: "Amount of chars for this stylesheet is too large and style can not be normally saved. Saved the data will be truncated" (You agree? - Yes / No).
In any case, the way how the data is saved now at odds with the common sense. I've long been familiar with CMSMS and can forgive such mistake, but if I was a newbie who just started learning CMSMS, I would be really angry and would choose for my project another cms. Loss results (in fact double work), it's one of the worst things for any webmaster!
