Hi,
trying to upgrade from 1.9.4.3 to 1.11.3. I've uploaded all files to server but cannot find the "..install/upgrade.php" site to finish the upgrade when going to the address with browser. (firefox finds an empty page, chrome and IE say cannot find page)
edit: chrome says: HTTP-error 500 (Internal Server Error)
If I leave the "/upgrade.php" out of the address it finds the install directory ok and wants to start installing.
Because I already have an existing site I dont want to install new 'cause as I understand it would wipe out the old site and database?
I did a similar upgrade to other sites in december and it always worked out fine. So please let me know any ideas?
Thanks

What package did you use? And latest version is 1.11.4 so better upgrade to 1.11.4 and make sure all file were proerly uploaded.
Re: install/upgrade.php empty (1.9.4.3->1.11.3)
Did you jump straight from 1.9.4.3 to 1.11.3? If so that's probably your problem. Error 500 is a code crash.

You need to upgrade in version steps. So that means 1.9.4.3 -> 1.10 -> 1.11 -> 1.11.4 (current latest, as uniqu3 says).

Re: install/upgrade.php empty (1.9.4.3->1.11.3)
Hi guys,
Thanks for the advice. I know it's not recommended to update jumping over versions, but I tested it about five times a month ago and every time it went ok.
Now I traced the problem to ftp-transfer which was corrupting some files when uploading. I have no cPanel access to the server so I cannot unzip files and I have to move them separately (thats over 2000 files so thats one reason I'm jumping over versions). Now I asked the webhost to unzip the "cmsmadesimple-1.11.4-full.tar.gz" file and they did and the install was successfull. But...
There are some modules that are not working, but thats propably getting better when I update them.
The biggest problem is that listing of pages goes ok, but when selecting any page the system shows empty page. I'll try to update my modules and hope that this is somehow related.
So work continues, I'll post reply when out of ideas again

A host without cpanel (or similar) access.....nightmare
See http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... 11.4+blank which should sort you out.Mats Helge wrote:The biggest problem is that listing of pages goes ok, but when selecting any page the system shows empty page.
