[CLOSED] "event date" in News module

Apart from the post, start and end date in News module, I could often use an "event date". Therefore I want to create an extra field, but the choices given there are Text input, Checkbox, Text area and File.
How can I add a date field like Post date? (i.e 6 drop down lists for month, day etc.).
Or any other way to enter a date and time in prescribed format, so news articles having an event date can be ordered by event date?

Did you try to use a block from CGContentUtilities module?

I installed that module and I can now add a drop down menu to my page templates, but I have no idea how to add it to my news template. I can't find a back end template for the news module add/edit article ...
I don't suppose I should insert the CGContentUtilities tag into one of the module's php files.
