Hi everybody,
I'm playing with the svn 1.11 version, and the new admin theme is very nice.
I just have question, poll or maybe a suggestion: why no just remove the top bar (logo with grey background). Even if it's beautiful, this bar doesn't have an important function and uses 100px of space in height.
What do you think about that? Thanks

Re: The new 1.11 admin theme
Okay here's my thoughts:
a: CMSMS distributed admin themes should always have the logo on the top (that's just my preference).
b: It serves a very useful purpose
- tells you 'who' you are logged in as and to what site.
very useful if you're switching between sites/users frequently. Alot of us do.
c: It's way too late in the 1.11 process to change it now.

Thank you Robert, I do understand
I didn't think about switching between multiple websites, what I do too
Maybe some other opinions?

With Smarty backend theming it is very easy now to create your own themes to your liking.
A stock core theme should follow CI guidelines and this is where Logo is part of it, a user should see what he is using and top left is exactly right spot (the Z rule).
Just like when someone would say now why Theme isn't blue and white, it is simply as is, it uses a color scheme that people got used to in NCleanGrey, meaning it is still recognizable (aiming to more consistency in CMSMS appearance) as stock core theme.
I do understand what you are aiming at but still there are just to many users around that simply switch logo, change copyright and other things like "CMS My Company Name", i do not want to make life easier for those!
Maybe at some later point we can do something like in the sidebar to toggle that part, save as cookie pref or something but for now in 1.11 it will be shipped as is.

Ok, you're right
I think I'll play a little with the new smarty backend to create a new theme with a header a little less high
