Help Creating E-commerce Solution

I could really use some assistance creating an e-commerce solution.

I want to sell clothing in a combination of sizes and colours and I need to be able to enter the stock levels so that it is not possible to sell more than I have in stock.

Also I need to be able to amend the stock levels easily when I sell items in my actual shop and not through the website.

I want it to work & look like most common shopping carts, where the cart contents are updated in the header or side bar.

I have installed the latest version of CMSMS and installed a theme and played around with the products module and also the shop made simple and cart made simple modules.

I have hit various obstacles achieving the kind of look and functionality that I require but finding it extremely hard to get the necessary support.

It would be very frustrating if I had done all this work and had to now start from scratch with a different software.

Anybody that can help in this area I would thoroughly appreciate your assistance.

Ecommerce modules that are from my hand are not the ones that you want when doing sizes/colors etc. Yes it can be done, but it is tricky. On the other hand inventory management is possible, which lacks according to me in the products module that you mentioned.
Maybe it is good to remember that CMSMS is not a piece of software that had its roots in ecommerce and therefor might not always fit needs easily found in other shopping software.
