SOLVED Edited pages update in "View Site" but not live vers

Post by cmsingenue »

I'm attempting to edit a page. I've followed instructions in the manual by editing content>pages then clicking 'apply'. If I then 'view site' the changes have been made but if I check our actual website address the changes have not been applied. Also, the version of our website that I see in 'view site' appears to be an older version of our website - it is not the same as our live version. Apologies if this is a silly question, I didn't set up this site & am not an experienced web designer.

If you click "view site" then you ARE viewing the live website.

Only thing I can think of, is that you are editing the wrong website.

please compare the url of your website with the url of the admin-part of your website.

If your website is located in "http://www.mywebsite.com, the url of admin-part should be "http://www.mywebsite.com/admin
If your website is located in "http://www.mywebsite.com/cms/, the url of admin-part should be "http://www.mywebsite.com/cms/admin

Reason: Please use double quotes on fake links so they aren't clickable...

Thanks, yes I was given the wrong URL to an older inactive version of our website! I have the correct one now.
