Can not edit anymore

Hello all

I tried to enhance an older CMSMS installation with some security measures.

-Renaming Admin directory and adapt it in config.php
-Adding .htaccess rules
-Adding robots txt.

I have done that many times before and never encountered any problems.
Until now. In this particular site (CMS Made Simple 1.7.1 "Escada"), suddenly I could not edit page contents anymore. I tried around CHMOD directories and files, nothing solved the problem. More strange, I have another CMSMS on the same hosting provider, and made the same changes. No problems there. I made sure the bad one has the same CHMOD on files (755 directories, 644 php files).

"Apply" a page edit brings a dialogue "403 error could not save". "Save" a page says:

Forbidden. You don't have permission to access /redaktion/editcontent.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

editcontent.php is CHMOD 644. And even setting it to 777 makes no change.

I cleared the CMSMS cache already.

I really have no idea whats causing this. Can someone help please?

Thanks for the information. But it is very unlikely caused by mod_security , because I have an other CMSMS installation on the very same provider, and not having that problem there.

Additionally, both websites were running fine for two years, up to the moment I changed admin directory.
