Missing admin pages after migrating working site

Post by JohnRichards »

Specifications at end for rules.

Have migrated a perfectly good installation from one server to another, by simple ftp. Then installed database with same user/pass/privledges. Changed config.php to reflect new paths.
set 777 on "tmp" and "uploads" as mentioned in help.

Public facing site is fine and seems to work flawlessly.

on logging in as administrator, normal menus etc. are visible but there are two errors I can see so far.

1) Site Admin - Global Settings - results in an empty page
2) Site Admin - System information - results in an empty page
3) Site Admin - System verification - results in blank page (On first copy of files this showed some info.)

4) Content - showtime slideshow - Edit show settings (on any show) - results in a blank page. Slideshows work.

Module view shows Showtime 2.0.2 and Module manager 1.4.2

When I try to re-copy site over in case of corruption, some files in the tmp/template_c will NOT copy with write errors. One clue is that one is \tmp\templates_c\Showtime^%%60^606^606A5E30%%module_file_tpl%3AShowtime%3Badmin.tpl.php
which may be a clue.

System is FreeBSOD.
PHP is 5.3
CMSMS 1.9.4.3

Any suggestions as to what I have missed here, or done wrong on the transfer, would be gratefully accepted as have spent many hours on this.

You should always empty site cache before moving, you may also want to put the install folder for that version of CMSMS you use and run it, BUT ON STEP 5 DON'T CREATE TABLE OR INSTALL DEFAULT CONTENT this will fix any path problems you may have...
