Question about Privacy Policy and cookies

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Question about Privacy Policy and cookies

Post by fearmydesign »

I have a question which may be odd, as I can't find an answer...

I am not a programmer (developer) just a designer. I noticed that on my website under my Privacy Policy I have the
"we do not store or use cookies"
, I would like to know if my statement is correct given that I am using a CMS Made Simple site with a contact form, photo gallery and CGBlog.

So does my CMSMS installation use or store cookies of any sort? so that I can reword that. I think this is very important for anyone that has a website and requires a Private Policy.

Thank you all
Rod

This is where you need to know a bit more than how to use a graphical design tool. Wether your site uses cookies or not depends largely on how you've configured it.

CMSMS by default uses session cookies (a unique identifier string stored in a cookie that is used to uniquely identify a users session... it contains just a string, no personal or private information).

You can what cookies your sites stores easily enough by looking at your browsers saved cookies.
