Doubled (the same number) hierarchy position in list content

I've just resolved a situation in on of our CMSMS installations, where have existed two exactly same hierarchy postion number for two diferent pages. Strange, huh? Agree.

Problem have been solved by changing page parent page and moving up/down.

The front-end behaviour was that first of the pages had been redirecting one page to another. So we tried to find the problem inside UDT logics (the site is quite complicated), which was time consuming and wrong way.

But how is it possible? I never met something like this and we use CMSMS two years in tens of installations.
The only explanation is that hierarchy position was broken during some partial backup restore.

Any clue?
