Saving pages very slow (30s+)

Hi. I have a pretty new install of CMSMS 1.9.4.2. The site browses fast, but saving changes to pages takes ages, on average 30 seconds. Even if I add a single character to a content block, then click Submit, this delay occurs.

It is not all database writes. If I save options in other areas of the admin interface, it is reasonably quick. Though the delay also happens with the template and stylesheet editors I wonder if there is a problem with Tinymce? Very confusing!

Try going to Site Admin -> Global Settings -> Advanced Setup

In the field "Check for new CMS versions using this URL:" put "none"

This will disable the check for new versions and module updates after every admin panel page load.

Thanks. That knocked about 5 seconds off. Now it's taking 25 seconds! So strange that it only seems to be pages with the TinyMCE editor.

I did try and get my host to change some PHP stuff. The memory is now better, but they won't turn off open_basedir. Would this cause problems?

Actually that might have solved it. Now I'm at home on my fast connection, it's running very quickly! Thanks
