Problem editing pages.

Post by ryde »

I have installed CMSMS 0.13 using php 4.4.0 and mysql 4.1.13 under Suse 9.1 on my local machine. When I use Firefox as my browser I often get that I simply cannot edit a page in the FCKeditorX. The cursor does not show and I simply am not able to touch the text. When I use Konqueror I am always able to edit the text but then the text is displayed ALWAYS as the plain html code (even though the FCKeditorX is set in WYSIWYG mode. (In Firefox it is shown always correctly in WYSIWYG mode). Has anyone seen this problem before? THi was the first time I installed 0.13. Before, I used 0.11.2 and I have never seen the problem there.

Thanks.

Are you seeing any kind of javascript errors?  I work almost exclusively in firefox and haven't seen this.

Hello Ted,

No javascript errors are seen. The area to enter the text for the page is simply "dead". Although you are able to select some text in the area with the mouse pointer (cursor is not seen) you are unable to put it into the clipboard.

Very strange problem. In a few days I will try it on another server.

Is it at all possible that this problem is somehow connected with the modules that have been installed or am I talking nonsense now?

Ryde:

I'm experiencing the same problems you are with a new install of 0.13.

In Firefox, I don't see a text box at all; in Internet Explorer, I see a text box, but I can't edit it (I can tab to highlight it, however--just can edit it).

Have you tried a "clean installation".  I had some problem after the upgrade.  I thought it was a script bug.  Turned out it needed a clean installation.  Just do not click the option to recreate your tables in your sql during the installation.  If you click on this option, all your saved sql databases would be deleted.  Then, go back to the admin cpanel and check out if the error is gone.
