News module and specifying unique URLs

Hi
I have two news categories and each category is to display in a different detail page template. I want to utilise the new feature in 1.9.4 that allows you to specify a URL but when i do this, the detail page is not styled. I then went to the news options and saw the "Default page to use for detail views:" but it looks like you can only set that once for all news categories and not for individual categories. When i do set it, the detail page does get styled but i want to have two different styles. Is this possible?
