Local / Web Copy

Post by CBlasek »

Hello All:

I love the software so far. Fixed the problem with FCK; but now I have come across a minor problem. I am hosting it on a server downstairs in the server room; I am making a intranet for the PC's to use inside the building; but I also want to enable access from home for people so they can login to check the schedule / news and such. Is there a way I can install it and use UNC paths for the internal machines and use web links for people logging in from home?

is the server web facing or is it behind a firewall, i hope, if it serves web pages to the public you can use the front end users module with sign in for registered users, or give them the URL to gain access, i've looked at some forum members home hosted sites with the right URL :..

It is behind a fire wall. what happened was that i installed it using http://ems ; so it made all the install directory point to http://ems; well when i go to the website: www.medic351.org; it is just text; when i view the source it shows all the pointers pointing to http://ems . any ideas?

you can edit config.php in the root to point to another destination :..
when i hit your link i am asked for a user name and password so it seems like you could give them a user name/password to login but i don't know if i was logging in to the site or the admin, have you tried your link?
